This editorial piece is made up of a collection of zines that contradict a misogynistic view even in this context—murder. Sparked by former FBI agent Roy Hazelwood’s controversial 1998 claim, “There are no female serial killers.”
Despite numerous cases, including Aileen Wuornos, labeled “America’s first female serial killer,” they remain less recognised than their infamous male counterparts like Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer. It can be described as a form of female representation that identifies why female serial killers are less known, delving into examples of their categorisation as “quiet killers” and their just as brutal crimes.
